Bitdefender and Kaspersky are two of the most well-known security products on the market. Both offer excellent ability to remove malware and have earned top item certificates from the most recent AV-TEST Institute assessments. Both have low false positive costs. Kaspersky does possess some advantages but, in the sense that its malware detection engine seems to be more precise and gives better indicators of whether something is malicious or not.
Kaspersky offers a number of different scanning tools that users can select from. They include a fast scan that only checks the most frequently used places where malware is found and a full system scan that checks for any threats that are hidden in the operating system files. Kaspersky also comes with the ability to scan outdated apps that could be exploited. It can take a bit of time, but the results are worth it.
The Bitdefender interface is easy to use, and it is sleek and stylish. The dashboard displays your security status with a green checkmark, and it turns red if there are issues that need attention. On the left side, a black rail displays buttons for different functions and features. They can be enlarged to reveal additional options.
Both services share similar features and offer 24/7 cloud-based security. They have anti-theft software, a VPN service and traffic light browser extensions to help to protect online transactions. They also have parental controls, a file shredder, and password managers. They also offer a no-cost package as well as paid packages with more advanced features.
